Dalya_Al-Muthanna Dr. Dalya Al Muthanna is the President & CEO of GE Gulf. As the first UAE national in this position, Dalya develops the company’s business strategy for the Gulf region, leading business growth and driving profitable operations across GE’s portfolio.

She leads a $5-6B region with over 4,500 employees developing localized business strategies for GE’s industrial verticals (Aviation, Power, Renewable Energy, Healthcare) and overlooking roof top investments, go-to-market strategies, strategic workforce planning and market growth blueprints.

In her role she grew orders annually by double digits and positioned GE as the industrial partner of choice in the region.
Dalya gives particular interest to promoting diversity, developing leadership capability and local talent as well as driving innovation and R&D to advance technological growth in the region.

She joined GE in 2008 as part of the company’s two-year rotational Experienced Commercial Leadership Program. She has held multiple senior roles since then, including leading the growth strategy for Middle East, North Africa & Turkey as well as heading strategic marketing for GE’s Energy businesses, where her responsibilities included driving results for GE Oil & Gas, Energy Management and Power & Water.

Dalya holds a PhD degree from Imperial College London in business model innovation to promote a low carbon economy in Dubai and an MBA degree from the American University in Dubai.

FIR Conference speaker1 Dr. Rodica Milena ZAHARIA is a Professor in the Department of International Business and Economics at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (BUES), Romania, that country’s most prestigious economic university.

In 1999 she earned her PhD degree from the BUES with a thesis on the role played by the industrial sector in Romania’s development. She has an interdisciplinary training, in economics and psychology.

Dr. Zaharia has participated in research internships at universities, such as Monash University (Australia), Nottingham Trent University (UK), Wirtschaftsuniversität (Vienna Austria). She was visiting professor at the University of Ruse (Bulgaria), Szczecin University (Poland), Bucharest University and Al.I Cuza University of Iasi (Romania).

Dr. Zaharia is the current Executive Director of the Research Center in International Business and Economics, at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies and serves as Vice president of the Society for Romanian Studies (society based in the USA).

Dr. Zaharia’s research interests include areas such as corporate social responsibility, higher education development, business ethics, and economic development. She has published numerous articles in Romanian and international peer review journals, contributed with chapters in books and coordinated research grants. She served as speaker for international conferences in Poland, USA, and Romania.

She is an active reviewer of conferences and journal papers, external reviewer for PhD thesis in Australia Lithuania and South Africa; a member of Editorial and Scientific Board of peer review journals from Romania, UK, Lithuania, and Ukraine.  In 2014 Zaharia was a Fulbright scholar, holding her research grant at Marywood University, Scranton, PA, USA in the area of corporate social responsibility and community issues.
