Call For Papers (Extended Deadline 16/02/2020)

We are pleased to invite you to the 3rd International Business Conference, entitled The Fourth Industrial Revolution: Transforming Businesses (FIR 2020).

The success of any business is based on how it embraces the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The previous industrial revolutions were mechanization, mass production and rise of digital technology. The Fourth Industrial Revolution, also known as Industry 4.0, is based on optimizing the digital revolution of the third industrial revolution. Thus, the main pillar of the Fourth Industrial Revolution is Digital Transformation. The Business Environment has been transformed and businesses are being urged (pressured) to be more efficient, effective and competitive.

The 2nd International Business Conference received over 100 international and local submissions. Thirty of these submissions were later published in the participating Scopus indexed journals. This conference is set to attract a wider international and local audience and is based on creating a reflection and (infusing) debate on how businesses are organizing and structuring themselves to fit into Industry 4.0. The objective is to research and discuss the Industry 4.0 and its disruptive business model in the fields of Analytics, Finance, Logistics, Marketing, Human Resources, Tourism, Quality, Accounting and Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

The International Business Conference is organised by the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sharjah. Extended versions of papers presented in FIR 2020 are invited for review, and potential publication in Special issues of the following three Scopus indexed journals:

  1. International Journal of Business Performance Management (IJBPM)
  2. Transnational Marketing Journal (TMJ)
  3. International Journal of Web Based Learning and Teaching Technologies (IJWLTT)

HCT faculty and students can register for the FIR 2020 conference for free. A fee of US$100 will be payable by non-HCT participants. A discount registration fee will be given to to doctoral students.

Social entrepreneurship Entrepreneurship Logistics and Supply Chain

Authors are invited to submit papers describing original, previously unpublished work, not currently under review by another conference, workshop, or a journal. Industry and Academic professionals from throughout the MENA region and beyond are encouraged to submit abstracts and research papers on a topic of their choice relating to the main theme.

The deadline for submitting a detailed abstract (500 words) and full author details is February 16, 2020. Selection of conference papers is based on the abstracts. Presenters will be notified whether they have been successful by March 1, 2020.

The full conference paper is due on February 15, 2020 and must be an original submission that has not been presented or published elsewhere. Papers are to be submitted at conference registration website (in case of some technical problems) to the Conference Chair: Dr. Priya Baguant

Participants who wish to be considered for review and potential publications in the Special Issues of the named Journals must submit Full Paper to the Journals directly by May 30th, 2020. Full Paper submissions will be through the Journal websites as follows:

Extended Abstracts will be blind reviewed by members of the conference Scientific Committee and should be submitted as a MS Word file or PDF, via Conference registration web page. Please note the following additional submission requirements:

  1. Extended Abstracts should be no more than 500 words, single spaced in Times New Roman 12 point.
  2. Abstracts should be in English and the presenter must be fluent in English.
  3. Twenty (20) minutes will be allowed for the paper presentation at the Conference.
  4. The authors should indicate their personal full contact details and include a brief biographical note with the paper.
